Fairfield and Westchester County Child Photographer

Just catching up on the blog- this week I got to spend time with Thomas, Porter, and Abby again after not seeing them since two winters ago. I can’t believe how much they grew! Thomas was just 11 months or so last time I saw him so what fun it was to see him at 2 and a half- keeping me on my feet. What I love about these pictures is the happiness in each one. They were such happy kids and such a happy family- it made my hour with them a truly fun time.

Thanks so much to their parents for having me out- hope you love these images- look forward to seeing these on your walls next time I see you.

September 8, 2010 - 6:05 pm Elizabeth R - What a beautiful family, captured so naturally!

Connecticut High School Senior Photographer

I don’t photograph too many seniors, but when I do I love it. I love this time in someone’s life- the year of many unknowns and aspirations for the future- and I find most of my seniors are really coming into themselves. As many of my clients know- I’m in my mid-twenties so it’s kind of funny to shoot kids that are in a point in their life that was in not too many years ago- but I think that’s what helps make me relatable.

I met Niels in downtown Southington, one of my favorite spots to shoot, this past week. We were given beautiful weather and Niels was a lot of fun to photograph- very natural in front of the camera and made my job easy. To Niels and his family- hope you love these images. I think they really came out great- a great mix of modern senior photography that is classic with a bit of edge. Looking forward to showing you the rest!

I love what the beautiful evening light adds to this picture

September 5, 2010 - 9:00 am Beth McLaughlin - they are awesome Erin! Thank you!!! Can't wait to see them all. Beth, Niels and Conor :-)

September 8, 2010 - 6:08 pm Jenny - Handsome young man- great senior pictures!

Westchester County Professional Photographer

I got to spend the day today with 2 year olds- Danielle and Meredith. What a fun time we had! They kept me on my feet, that was for sure, but that’s how I like my sessions- with lots of energy and lots of life. We got some beautiful moments that I am so happy with- moments that I think truly mark this time in their lives. We got pictures with special stuffed animals and lovies, real life images of the girls together, and some of best Mom/child and Dad/child images I’ve taken in my career. Hope all of you love these- you were all so much fun to work with- thanks for a great day! Many many more to come.

how much will she loves this when she looks back at age 18?

such joy in this image

love the life here

and finally, I just adore this image. such a tender moment.

September 8, 2010 - 6:07 pm Elizabeth R - Such sweet photographs! Would love to have such nice images of my family!

Connecticut Family and Dog Photographer

One of my regular families contacted me this summer because their dog, Pete, is beginning to have some health complications. They realized they might be reaching the final chapters of Pete’s life with them, and they wanted to capture Pete with their daughter Savannah. Posing a dog and 18 month year old is never easy, but we got some beautiful special images that I just love. So classic feeling. Hope you three love these- I think they will be cherished for many years and I know when Savannah is older, it will be so special to be able to look back and show her her childhood dog. All the best to Pete!

September 8, 2010 - 6:09 pm Jenny - Awwwww! So cute and touching!!!!

Connecticut Professional Baby Photographer

I have a lot of families that I get to see a few times a year, and this is one of them. I feel so connected to this family as I’ve watched their daughter Lollia grow, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome their new addition, 6 day old Luca, into their lives. He is absolutely adorable- still a little guy at 6 pounds with the most precious ears and perfect little lips. It’s so fun to watch Lollia as a big sister- she was so great with him. Can’t wait to watch Luca grow up now too. To their parents- you know how much I enjoy working with all of you. Hope you love these as much as I do- I’m so happy to be a part of such a special time in your lives.

September 8, 2010 - 6:11 pm Jenny - I love the family photographs, especially- beautiful!

September 8, 2010 - 6:29 pm Elizabeth R - Beautiful newborn, and gorgeous family images!

Connecticut Professional Photographer

I recently got to meet up with a family I’ve been photographing for three years now- they have two kids now and it’s so fun to see Kaitlin as a big sister to little Alex! She is truly an amazing big sister- it was so sweet and special to watch them together. We met at the beach and although we got both great family and sibling images, some of these sibling images were so beautiful I just had to blog these. What I love about beach images is the images are generally more art focused. Expressions are more thoughtful and soulful, and every scene is more picturesque. Each image makes for a piece of fine art. I love beach sessions not for big grins generally, but for the soft moments in life. This session was all about soft moments.

J Family- I think each image from your session is so unique and powerful- hope you love them as much as I do! Thanks for coming out!

I love the rich tones under docks….

one of my favorite sibling images I’ve taken this far in my career

September 8, 2010 - 6:13 pm Beth Parker - I love the brother-sister interaction, and the beach setting makes the images so striking!

Studio Update

Our studio will unexpectedly be closed Sunday and Monday, August 29th and 30th. We will be in touch on Tuesday. Many thanks for your patience!

Connecticut Beach Photographer

I met these three 2 years ago when I first photographed the youngest, Ian and Chad, as newborns. They’re two now and a bit easier to chase down then they were at 2 weeks old, but I swear they just get cuter every time I see them. Big sister Jillian is always such a pleasure to work with as well- she’s such a happy spirit and just so beautiful to boot. I love my regular clients because it feels like I’m seeing extended family at each session- there is nothing more fun than watching your clients grow over the years. Thank you to their wonderful parents who invite me out each time.

We met in Fairfield at Jennings Beach and got an absolutely gorgeous day. Beach lighting is always tricky for a photographer, but we made it work for a bit then headed over to the shaded playground. I just love these pictures- I think each of them shows their spirits so well.

Enjoy C Family! :)

September 8, 2010 - 6:14 pm Elizabeth R - Adorable kids- I especially love the image of the three of them together!

Studio Update

Just updating to let everyone know that after a week off, we reopened the studio today but due to a day of sessions are still trying to get back to all of the recent inquiries and emails. So many great families to write back to in the next few days- thank you for your patience in letting us get in touch with everyone. If you have emailed or called us in the last 8 days, we will be responding to you shortly. If you don’t hear back from me by Saturday evening, please get in touch again as perhaps we might have missed it.

Just an update on our holiday schedule for this year:

Our last day taking sessions before the holidays will be: NOVEMBER 20TH

Our last day in the office this year will be: DECEMBER 15TH

All orders placed on time this year will be shipped out by the 15th of December to arrive the 17th or 18th in time for sending cards out and the holidays.  The earlier we can get you on our fall schedule, the earlier your order would ship.  When scheduling for holiday cards, please note that orders typically ship 3-4 weeks after being placed.  Late November sessions will ship a bit more quickly to be out by the holidays.

Every year we close the studio down from December 15th until February 5th for a winter vacation.  I will be spending the winter in Austin TX attending a national photographers conference and planning 2011 product lines and schedules. We will still be booking simplicity sessions with our associate photographers for this part of the year.

Please get in touch with us soon to book a session for the fall.

Many thanks!

Connecticut Professional Photographer

Going to be brief on the blog since I am still majorly catching up from my week off, but had a great day of sessions today that I couldn’t resist blogging. It felt so great to shoot again today- I feel so lucky to have a job that I am still excited about everyday.

Today I met 2 year old Ty and his new baby sister Maddie.  In my career, I can honestly say this is the happiest big brother I’ve ever met. He was just so thrilled with his little sister and so proud of himself showing her off when he got to hold her.  I love how real these first moments of him holding her are- I know Mom and Dad will treasure these for years.  To Maddie and Ty’s family- thanks for all of your help with the shoot today and having me out.  I’m sure these images will be loved for many many years into the future.

and I just had to post this one… love these first brother and sister moments in life. I love to think this one would be titled, “it’s hard to be so loved.”

I spent my evening tonight in Collinsville (Canton) with Taylor who is going into her senior year this fall.  Hands down one of the most fun Mom and daughter teams I’ve ever gotten the privilege of working with.  This shoot was exactly what I needed after a long day back in the office and shooting- and I couldn’t have chosen a better way to end the day.  Thank you both for coming out tonight- I can’t tell you how in love I am with Taylor’s portraits.  She honestly did not take a bad picture. Enjoy!

September 8, 2010 - 6:18 pm Jenny - Oh my goodness! It's so cute to see how delighted big brother is! Also, BEAUTIFUL senior girl- looks like a model's portfolio!

Connecticut Family Photographer

I know I’m always saying photoshoots are fun- but this one truly was. I met a great crew of people at Walnut Beach in Milford where we did pictures of the two cousins, their families, and Grandma and Grandpa. Extended family sessions are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Oh and a great job to the family on outfits- love the hint of coordination but not too matchy- that’s what I always love for family sessions.

These were not only beautiful children, but so well behaved! I always have to mentally prepare for working with the 18 month old age, but my recent 18 month olds have been proving me wrong. This little guy was so good for me.

To the wonderful family from Sunday- thank you to all 8 of you! It was so much fun- here’s just a few for now highlighting the kids. Many more great images to come.

August 10, 2010 - 6:24 pm Nicole, Brian & Noelle - Erin...I am at a loss for words! The photos are BEAUTIFUL...you managed to capture such pure emotion behind these shots. Thank you so much for making this experience so fun and relaxing. I can't even wait to see more!

August 11, 2010 - 6:12 am Kim, Dan, and James - Erin, These pictures are amazing! Thank you so much for your patience and the time you took to make the photography session an enjoyable and relaxing one. We can't wait to see the rest of the photographs!

August 12, 2010 - 12:25 am Laura Morita-Yeun - I'm such a fan of yours. Such wonderful images!

Miss Lily

This week I got to see one of my little babies from last year who is growing up- and despite being behind on blogging sessions- I can’t resist posting images of this family. They’re some of the warmest people I know, always greeting me with hugs and making me feel so appreciated while I work with them. Jen, the three of you are such special clients to me- I hope you know that. And I hope you love these pictures of Lily! Crazy to think how much she’s grown from last year- I can’t get over the gorgeous curls.

Lily is wearing Ralph Lauren here- I love Mom’s sense of style. She is the owner of the children’s boutique Kidlet- based out of Greenwich. I will post details about them later in the week.

Miss Lily just 10 short months ago:

August 9, 2010 - 4:37 am Jennifer, Alon & Lily - Erin- we LOVE these pictures and cannot wait to see the rest of them! We love your spirit, your beautiful work and you have become such a special person in all of our lives..With Love, Jennifer, Alon and "Miss Lily"

August 9, 2010 - 7:33 pm The Shore - What a sweetie! Her riding pants are adorable. And the family portrait is divine!

Connecticut Children’s Photographer

I met the happiest boy in the world today- Charlie is 20 months old and about to be a big brother. We wanted to get some special images of him before he’s one of two. He was all smiles- this is usually a tough age but photographing Charlie today was so much fun- and I love Mom’s classic taste in clothes.

Thanks to Charlie’s Mom for bringing him out today- he is just adorable! Hope you love these two for now- many many more to come.

Woodbury CT Portrait Party

We had a great turn out for our portrait party today- thank you so much Jen for putting it together, and to all of the great families for coming out. Here a sneak peek of the images- will be getting in touch with everyone in 2-3 weeks with your complimentary files. Hope you love these- so glad the rain held out!

If you’re one of my current clients and you’d like to host a party, please get in touch with me. We’re only doing one more this fall.

August 6, 2010 - 4:49 am Jen Higgins - I just LOVE your work! The kids are sooooo adorable! Thank you again Erin and Lisa for coming to my home! I can't wait for our family portrait in the fall!

August 6, 2010 - 4:51 am Jen Higgins - Erin - 2 or 3 of the files are not loading (they have red Xs) and I am assuming that those are the missing kids?

August 6, 2010 - 5:35 am Leigh - The pictures turned out great! I cannot wait to set up a date and time for a family portrait. Thanks again!

August 6, 2010 - 6:13 am Becky - Wow! These pictures came out beautiful! Your work is very impressive! Thank you!

Connecticut Family Portraits

I spent the evening yesterday photographing one of our staff members families. We got together with her parents and got some beautiful images of everyone together. I hope you love them Lisa- so much life and fun in each capture. You’re a great looking group- you made my job easy!

We do do extended family shoots for clients who are interested. Please contact me and I’ll give additional information about our extended family sessions.

August 10, 2010 - 9:43 am Jordan - I love these photos! They are so happy!

Danbury Children’s Photographer

I attended a shoot today with our associate Mel, and I couldn’t help but jump in and take a few images myself at the end. 15 month old Savannah was just born to be photographed. She was our typical hard to chase down toddler (which we have plenty of practice with!), but the images we got of her are just beautiful. Big blue eyes, perfect baby girls- a photographers dream.

Thank you so much to her family for bringing Savannah out to be photographed- I hope you love this sneak peek- another sneak peek with Mel’s images coming soon.

August 4, 2010 - 5:43 am Melanie Reeb - Love it she looks so perfect!!!!!

Roxbury CT Photographer

I had the privilege of getting to meet two adorable kids this week- Claire and Benjamin- visiting all the way from Chicago! I met them at their Grandpa’s beautiful property here in Connecticut where we were able to take advantage of all of the hidden nooks and crannies of the place. What a beautiful setting- thank you to their generous Grandpa for sharing it with us.

You know what I truly love about this session? The fact that these images could have been taken in 2010 or 1910. This timelessness and classic approach is a big part of my style and I love when parents own personal style of clothing work with this. Even after many years, my style continues to mold, and I notice with each passing day there is more and more vintage charm to my images. It lends well to wall art.

To the parents of Claire and Ben, thank you for a fabulous morning and I hope you love this sneak peek as much as I do! Thank you for choosing to work with us during your summer vacation.

this has to be one of my favorite b/w images of all time. I’m not sure what it is, but I can’t stop looking at it. It truly feels so classic to me.

August 3, 2010 - 5:25 pm Jenny - Beautiful, classic images.

August 7, 2010 - 5:20 pm Amy - I asked Claire what her favorite part of the trip was and she said when "Miss Erin came!"

Fall Calendar Is Open!

Great news- it is the final weekend of July and that means our fall calendar is now open. Scheduling priority will go to return clients and those on our waiting list. Over the past few years, the majority of September, October, and November weekend dates are booked within the first few weeks of the fall calendar opening up. Although we will sometimes add additional dates mid-fall, prime times of day and days of the week are usually booked by September 1st. To take advantage of this beautiful fall weather and get your holiday cards taken care of, please email us as soon as possible to get on the books.

This year we will be taking sessions until November 15th. Our studio will be open and processing orders until December 15th. All orders will ship by that date and we will be closed for holiday break until February 1st, 2011 with the exception of a handful of simplicity sessions done by our associates Mel and Lisa. I will be away for much of the winter- I’m heading to San Antonio after Christmas for Imaging USA (a spectacular photographer’s conference) and then to Austin for four weeks where I will plan our 2011 product offerings and schedule.

I believe we will have a shorter foliage season this year due to the warm summer- so consider booking for September this year. September is perfect for back to school clothes, perfect mild weather, & beach shoots.

Email us at erinbell@erinbellphotography.com to get on our fall books- we look forward to seeing our return clients again and to meeting new ones!

And just to include one image…
